They will be there investigations by the Flying Squad and Scientific Police to clarify the dynamics and motive of the wounding which occurred this morning in eastern area of Salerno. A 56-year-old man from Salerno was shot in the abdomen while riding in a refrigerated van used to transport dairy products. The suspicion is that the shooter was very close. The man, despite being injured, managed to reach the hospital in Salerno with his own vehicle where he was admitted with a red code. He is currently sedated but not in danger of life. The forensic police have carried out accurate checks inside the van to recover any possible warheads and traces of gunpowder.
Investigations are underway to trace the identity of the shooter. Investigators are examining images from video surveillance cameras in the area.
