The world of history enthusiasts gathered in the Caiello church in Gallarate to say one last goodbye to Antonello Rota: president of the president of the historical Carosello Tre Leoni who passed away during the night between Friday 28 and Saturday 29 June. For his commitment to the dissemination of Italian history, in particular the Risorgimento, through accurate historical reenactments, Rota had been nominated knight of the Republic in 2015.

Many attended the function, including the mayor of Magenta Luke of the Hunchbacktogether with the president of the Pro Loco of Magenta Pietro Pierrettoriwho for years collaborated with Antonello Rota in the creation of the re-enactment of the historic battle of the Risorgimento.
«Antonello Rota was a great friend of the city of Magenta and of Italy – recalls the mayor Del Gobbo -. With him I experienced two great moments: the 150th anniversary of the battle of Magenta, which we remembered with a reenactment with over 500 participants in 2009 and then the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy in 2011, when Antonello decided to get married right in Magenta, all in historical uniform. We want to continue to keep the reenactment alive also in his memory».
