At the FISPES Italian Paralympic Championships, the thrower from Trieste, category F13, won the javelin, setting a new Italian record, and the discus, confirming his status as an absolute reality.
Who stops him? By now Emanuele Pangher, a paralympic thrower registered for President Pompeo Tria’s Asd Trieste Atletica Aps (FIDAL) and for ASPET Siracusa (FISPES), has gotten used to dominating in Italian events. On Saturday 29 June, Fabio Mandarà’s student had a phenomenal day, winning two Gold Medals at the FISPES (Italian Federation of Paralympic and Experimental Sports) Italian Paralympic Championships.
In Brescia the twenty-two year old from Trieste, who competes in the F13 (visually impaired) category, provided a very solid performance in the javelin throw in the morning, conquering the top step of the podium and throwing, at the last available attempt, the tool to 39.75m, creating the new Italian record.
Not at all satisfied, in the afternoon, the yellow and blue standard-bearer granted an encore by also dominating in the discus throw, with a measurement of 37.10 (a routine measurement for an athlete capable in 2024 of throwing 41.07m).
“I have confirmed myself once again,” explains Emanuele Pangher, “at a national level, but also climbing the European ranking in the javelin, with a measure of 39.75m, and getting closer to the top. On the eve of this event I felt very good and I tried to give my best in the double close commitment, not easy to manage. In the afternoon I tried to use the last available energy and I brought home a new success. For the next few months the goal is to confirm, constantly, on these measures to raise the bar in 2025 and dream of the big events with the blue jersey.”
There is a lot of satisfaction and pride in the words of coach Fabio Mandarà: «The balance is very positive, especially for the performance provided in the javelin, in which we approached the top ten of the world ranking and where the shoulder problems, faced by Emanuele at the beginning of this year, now seem to have been overcome. Let’s continue like this with determination and feet on the ground».
