“Games without barriers” returns to Piazza Martiri on 7 July – Teramo

TERAMO. An event dedicated to solidarity, sport and entertainment to promote the culture of inclusion and raise public awareness on disability issues. On Sunday 7 July, from 8pm, “Games without barriers” returns to Piazza Martiri della Libertà. The initiative, now in its 14th edition and organized by the Abruzzo Volunteering Service Center with the patronage of the Municipality, Province and Region and the collaboration of other bodies, was presented yesterday at the Science Park by the mayor Gianguido D’Albertofrom the deputy mayor Stefania Di Padovafrom the sports councilor Alexandra Ferriby the president of CSV Abruzzo Casto Di Bonaventura and by the coordinator of the Teramo CSV delegation Guido Campana.
About twenty associations from Teramo and Abruzzo are ready to try their hand at various group games, dances and sports specialties. The evening will see among the guests Ivan Cottinia dancer suffering from multiple sclerosis, and the athlete Matthew Cattini, ambassador of Paralympic sport. Two new features of this edition: the presence of the mascot Barry and the children’s choir of the “Passi Insieme” association, who will perform in collaboration with the Braga conservatory.
«Being together and discovering the importance of those around us is fundamental», declares Di Bonaventura, «and doing it in a joyful and festive moment is even more beautiful. Over the years this initiative has given rise to relationships of profound friendship and complicity.” Campana adds: «We will offer many games to keep all the participants entertained and dancing. The presence of Ivan Cottini and Matteo Cattini will make the evening even more special and full of meaning.”
