The passage of the third stage of the Tour de France in Alessandria on July 1st will be a celebration, which will bring with it many events for the population and international visibility that not only the city but also the rest of the province will be able to exploit for future tourism benefits .
The route in the city
However, there will be no shortage of traffic disruptions. The Municipality of Alessandria announced this morning the traffic changes that will be in effect on Monday, July 1st in the city, with a significant deployment of police. The roads affected will be completely closed from 11am to 3pm, making it impossible to cross the race route.
“The race – they explain from Palazzo Rosso – will come from Tortona, travel along the entire state road 10 and then turn left at the McDonald’s traffic light, pass the Amag roundabout and continue until the railway overpass: the bridge will be crossed in the direction of the Cristo district, with the entrance in Corso Carlo Marx : from there, the runners will pedal up to Castellazzo, passing Cantalupo».
Scheduled closures
The indication for those arriving or having to head towards Novi, as well as to and from Tortona, is to only use the motorway. The roundabout in the area of the Spinetta Marengo cemetery will be closed, as will the connection between the state road 35 Bis dei Giovi and state road 10 in the Bellavita area.
Furthermore, the Stortigliona roundabout, Gorilla road, the exits from the ring road for Alessandria in the Retail area and for Spinetta, the aforementioned Amag roundabout, the roundabout at the traffic lights in the Kimono and Koala area and that of the railway overpass will be closed.
Access to the station
«Access to the station – explains the Municipality – will be permitted only to travellers, post offices, taxis and services with access from the Hotel Londra roundabout. Anyone who needs to move to the hospital area from the Pista neighborhood will have to enter the ring road from Panorama and exit onto Viale Forlanini and vice versa. If you need to go towards the city from Cristo, you will have to take Via Vecchia dei Bagliani or the ring road.”
