They blow up ATMs in Bitonto, hunt for the gang

This night at around 3 in Bitonto an ATM was blown up in Viale Repubblica. Investigations are underway by the staff of the Bitonto police station and the Flying Squad. Surveys by the Scientific Police. From an initial reconstruction there are two injured robbers who were “dumped” at the Polyclinic by their accomplices, who then fled: one is currently hospitalized in the intensive care unit, the other is still in the operating room.

The ATM that was attacked was that of the Deutsche Bank in Viale della Repubblica in Bitonto. The explosion occurred around 3am last night. The one who acted would have been a group of at least five people. Two of them were seriously injured and are in the Bari Polyclinic. They are two men: one is hospitalized in the intensive care unit with brain haemorrhages while the other is still in the operating room for a delicate facial operation. The police officers are examining the images recorded by the video surveillance systems of the area and of the credit institution that recorded the robbery.
It is not clear whether the group managed to take away the box containing the money: the explosion, which woke up and frightened the residents, caused the collapse of the compartment in which the banknote dispenser was placed and it will take a few more hours to ascertain whether the money was taken away.
