“Sicily of the temples”, the single ticket for 4 archaeological sites

A single cumulative ticket to visit the four most important archaeological sites in western Sicily: the Salinas Museum and the Parks of the Valley of the Temples (Agrigento), Segesta and Selinunte (Trapani). The “Sicily of the temples” coupon, which will be valid for 15 days, was presented this morning at a press conference at the Salinas in Palermo. “A provision that has been awaited for years – said the councilor for cultural heritage and Sicilian identity, Francesco Paolo Scarpinato – which we have finally managed to achieve. We are already working to extend this initiative to sites in eastern Sicily, thus creating a virtuous circuit of cultural and tourist promotion that can enhance the entire heritage of the island”.

The types of tickets

Various types of tickets are offered: from the cumulative ticket to the four sites Salinas, Valle dei Templi, Segesta and Selinunte (36.20 euros and reduced 20.60 euros); to the combination Valle dei Templi + Salinas (18.20 euros; concessions 10.60 euros); Salinas + Segesta (15.60 euros; reduced 8.80 euros); Salinas + Selinunte (13.60 euros; reduced 6.80 euros). Tickets include additions to current exhibitions and will allow, over the 15 days, only one entry to the sites involved. Thanks to the collaboration between the directors of the Museum and Parks and CoopCulture, which manages the services, visitors will be able to follow the traces of the civilizations that “inhabited” the Island, enjoying savings of around 20 percent on the cost total admissions.

“You will be able to read the names of the pharaohs on the Pietra di Palermo at Salinas, wonder about the mysterious Elymians at Segesta; discover the acropolis overlooking the sea at Selinunte and walk the Via Sacra in one of the most important sites in the world, a UNESCO heritage site since 1997. Everywhere – concludes the councilor – sanctuaries, temples, ruins, agora and then again finds, collections, mosaics, a journey through history unique in the world”. Furthermore, each of the archaeological sites involved presents its own program of events, exhibitions, concerts, experiences and guided tours, daytime and at night, which can be consulted on the respective websites.
