REGGIO CALABRIA Access the MArRC every day, to discover new masterpieces on display and scheduled exhibitions every time. From July 1st, with an annual card costing 22 euros, you can. It was announced on Sunday 9 June by the director of the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, Fabrizio Sudano, during the press conference presenting the programmatic lines and the MArRC 2024 events calendar.
A small but important revolution that comes into force on the first day of July with the new MArRC pricing plan with which the Museum aligns itself with the main Italian Museums of the National Museum System. In addition to the new card, in fact, the cost of entrance tickets is remodulated to also include some promotions designed to attract young people up to 25 years of age and allow dedicated access to major exhibitions. The ordinary ticket will go to 10 euros, while the right of free access for the categories referred to in Ministerial Decree 507/1997 and subsequent amendments and the right to a reduced ticket equal to 2 euros for young people aged between 18 and 25 will remain unchanged. Extraordinary evening openings are also back at a cost of 3 euros. Every Friday in July and August 2024 (9 dates) the museum will open from 8pm to 11pm with last entry at 10.30pm.
«The new MArRC tariffs aim to rebalance relationships between national museum sites and enable all visitors to discover and rediscover a slow to visit places of culture – declares director Sudano. On the one hand, in fact, it responds to the need to adapt the cost of the entrance ticket to the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria to the average prices charged by other Italian cultural institutes and places; on the other hand, tools such as the annual subscription are introduced, which allows visitors and in particular those closest to them, to explore the extraordinary heritage present at the MArRC little by little, several times a year, for a cultural walk or simply to immerse themselves in the harmony of history and beauty present in the museum.”
The tariff plan that will come into force from July 1st
MArRC GOLD at a cost of 22.00: annual nominative subscription which allows an unlimited number of accesses to the MArRC for the duration of one calendar year starting from the date of purchase;
MArRC FAMILY at a cost of €40.00: nominative subscription for families made up of 2 adults and children under 18 which allows an unlimited number of accesses to the MArRC for the duration of one calendar year starting from the date of purchase;
MARRC YOUNG at a cost of €5.00: nominative subscription reserved for children aged between 18 and 25 which allows an unlimited number of accesses for the duration of one calendar year starting from the date of purchase;
MArRC FRIENDS at a cost of €8.00: reserved for companions of season ticket holders;
MArRC SLIM at a cost of €5.00: allows access to the museum from 6.00 pm until closing time;
MArRC EXPO at a cost of €5.00: allows access to temporary exhibitions selected by the Management;
MArRC PLUS at a cost of €13.00: to be activated in the event of temporary paid exhibitions being set up; Allows access to the Museum and exhibitions.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Mondays), continuously from 9:00 to 20:00, last entry at 19:30. Up to 18 years old, entry is always free.
