Fondazione Marche Cultura – Marche Film Commission participated as an institutional partner in the seventh edition of the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival, an event conceived and directed by Tiziana Rocca, which saw the participation of a parade of Italian and international cinema stars, from Harvey Keitel to Oscar winners Patricia Arquette and Brie Larson.

During the final evening of the festival, the actor and director Neri Marcoré, released in theaters this year with his directorial debut Zamora, received the Filming Italy Award, in collaboration with the Marche Region, from the president of Fondazione Marche Cultura Andrea Augustines. “We know everything about the artist Marcoré – observed the president – I also like to underline the depth of the man, testimonial of the Marche, creator and promoter of a brilliant idea like RisorgiMarche, which for 8 years now has promoted a unique format of its kind, of territorial solidarity and concrete closeness, through culture and music, to the areas affected by the earthquake”. “I thank you for the award dedicated to my best film, also because it was the only one I directed – joked Marcoré – For RisorgiMarche all the artists who performed for free should be thanked. It is a great satisfaction to have launched a beautiful message with them that continues, because this summer we will continue with the eighth edition”.
Among the many events, from screenings to debates, of particular interest was the panel which on Saturday 22 June saw the president of the Foundation, Andrea Agostini, in discussion with an authoritative audience on the theme “Filming Italy: Made in Italy in international challenges with cinema and audiovisual, for the consolidation of a global audience”. Among those who spoke, in presence or via video connection, were the undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Education Lucia Borgonzoni, the Director of Cinema and Audiovisual Nicola Borrelli, the Director of Rai Cinema Paolo Del Brocco, the president of Cineicità Chiara Sbarigia, the president of Anec , Mario Lorini, the president of the Anica publishers and distributors union Luigi Lonigro, the president of the Rainbow group Iginio Straffi, Arturo Barquet of NBC Universal, the producer Federica Lucisano, the actress and director Claudia Gerini, the president of the Anica producers union Benedetto Habis, Alessandro Araimo of Warnes Bros. Discovery, the director of Rai Fiction Maria Pia Ammirati.
An American actress, during one of her speeches, recalled a motto: there are two types of people, Italians and those who would like to be – notes President Agostini – In short, promoting Made in Italy is easy. However, we need to know how to tell: here winning storytelling comes into play, working in the territories to be audiovisual friendly, making investments and skills available to accommodate high-quality productions. We are doing it in the Marche, ready to find an ideal context, of proximity and at the same time discretion, as is the style of the Marche people. We went to Filming Italy recognizing the high level of this event. Participating in the major festivals in Italy and Europe is important for establishing relationships and promoting the intense commitment to the growth of the audiovisual sector that we are carrying out.”
