In an ideal journey we think of places and encounters that can leave a nostalgic thought, a desire to escape, a sense of beauty and suspension. Film music is considered the other soul of twentieth century classical music, and the masterpieces of Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Armando Trovajoli, Stelvio Cipriani, they are loved by audiences all over the world.

The music of these great composers transports us to another time and place, evokes memories of past experiences or introduces us to new worlds, places we can only see in our dreams. PORTRAITS it is a tribute to Italianness.”

The SaxArt Festival was born in 1999 after some meetings with the then mayor De Giovanni and myself during my returns from the USA where I was studying at Michigan State University. The aim was to be able to organize a festival dedicated to the saxophone and bring great artists and students from all over the world to Faenza. A dream that has come true, thanks also to the many sponsors who helped us.”
