Using a foreign telephone number, in July last year, he contacted the username of a journalist from Reggio Emilia, threatening retaliation if articles were written about his football team, claiming to be the journalist paid by another football club.
Threats that the journalist then immediately reported to the police at the Corso Cairoli station who, during the investigations, including those of a technical nature, identified the person responsible.
Thus, on charges of threats, the Carabinieri reported a 50-year-old from Reggio Emilia living abroad to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation began following the episode that occurred on 22 July last year, when an unknown person, using a foreign telephone number, called the journalist’s cell phone account. During the phone call, the anonymous interlocutor uttered clear threats, inviting him not to write any more articles about a football team, of which he is probably a fan, claiming that he was paid by another club.
The journalist then turned to the police.
