The Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi will be present on July 1st, on the occasion of the inaugural day of the 1st City of Latina Trophy – Basket in Piazza. The news arrived this morning, during the press conference for the draw and presentation of the groups, in the reading room of the “Sante Palumbo” Citizens Club, directly from Massimo Passamonti, president of the organizing association Gli Amici del Basket. For three weeks, from 1st to 21st July, from 7pm onwards, double Junior and Senior tournament in Piazza del Popolo, in the area set up in front of the Finance Office. A total of 40 games. The program includes a Junior race every evening at 7pm followed by a Senior race at 9pm. “More than as a councilor, I am happy as a citizen for this tournament, for which I felt a lot of curiosity and anticipation in the city” declared the Councilor for Sport of the Municipality of Latina Andrea Chiarato.
A real sports village will be set up around the field, consisting of a 200-seat grandstand, two other mini-basketball courts for the entertainment of the little ones and refreshment areas. A square that is filled with content, aiming for sporting and social aggregation.
Tournament of Italian Basketball Federation, represented by the provincial delegate Luca Rizzi, also technical delegate of the 1st “Città di Latina” Trophy, who followed the draw operations. Roster of 14 male and female players, divided into three groups, respecting the athletes’ rank, gender equality and age groups in proportion.
Starting from the Junior teams divided into green band (5 U15 and U15 players from 2009-2010), yellow band (U13 and Rookies 2011-2012) and red band (4 players from 2009-2012).
In each quarter the green-yellow-red bands must be represented in proportion by the following number of athletes: first quarter 2-2-1, second quarter 2-1-2, third quarter 2-1-2, third quarter 1 -3-1, fourth quarter 3-1-1.
First stage with a single group of six Italian-style. Participating are GC Insurance (white shirt), GlobalTel (blue shirt), Le Pulcine (black shirt), Basket del Golfo (yellow shirt), Istituto Steve Job / Power Unit (blue shirt), Goonies (green shirt). At the end of the match semi-final pairings 1st – 4th and 2nd – 3rd. After the semi-finals, 5th – 6th place, 3rd – 4th place and 1st – 2nd place will be played in final order. A total of 20 games.
Senior Roster, breakdown of 14 players/players. There are 5 players in the professional green band (A1, A2, B, B Inter, 19 Exc and 17 Exc), 5 players in the regional yellow (D1, D2, D3, 19 Gold and Silver as well as non-members and former players) and 4 red band players with no category restrictions.
Based on the draw, the eight Senior teams were divided into two groups of four.

At the end of the two groups the quarter-finals begin with the cross-matches between the teams of the two groups: 1st round. A – 4 rounds. B, 2nd round. A – 3rd round. B, 3rd round. A – 2nd round. B, 4th round. A – 1st round. B.
Followed by the semi-finals, avoiding the meeting between the top two of each group, who could only find themselves facing each other in the final. In this category, only the 3rd – 4th place and 1st – 2nd place finals will be played.
