Regional title for Webbin Angel Manfredonia, under 15 Gold category.
Once again the young Siponto basketball players are in the limelight for the sporting results achieved, this time they take home the record in the under 15 category, a hard-fought victory against the very talented players of the same age group from Conversano.
Final four held in Manfredonia, with the local boys led by coach Gramazio, Basket Conversano, Fenice Foggia and Valentino Basket Castellaneta competing for the title. In the first semi-final Conversano gets the better of Foggia, in the following match Webbin Angel Manfredonia overcomes a tenacious Castellaneta.
The following day, the two finalists played a final that thrilled the many fans who flocked to the stands, despite the unbearable heat. At the end of the four quarters it was a draw, extra time was used where the Sipontos prevailed and won the match and the regional title.
A few weeks after winning the Under 14 Elite regional title, there is still a clear path for the Manfredonia basketball players, 30 matches played and 30 victories achieved.
Coach Umberto Gramazio: “I’m proud of these guys, they demonstrated their value on the pitch. Closing a sporting season with two championships won and playing 50 matches and winning the same number is a great satisfaction.”
