MODICA – Many events aimed primarily at young people, but not only, will project Marina di Modica and Maganuco at the center of the “Modica Summer Fest” summer program with Carmen Consoli’s concert on 19 August at the Mediterraneo auditorium as the flagship event. And then on July 27th Ludwig in Piazza Mediterraneo and Edoardo Bennato on August 25th, again at the auditorium, and the Notte della Taranta in Modica. The details were illustrated at Palazzo San Domenico by the mayor Maria Monisteri and the councilors Belluardo, Vindigni, Antoci, Drago, Cannizzaro and Facello. Marina di Modica will benefit from 250 more free parking spaces, in order to ease the parking shortage, especially after the transformation of the historic Piazza Mediterraneo. And in this regard, the last details need to be reviewed, with the installation of the public lighting poles and the subsequent connection to the electricity grid, the installation of railings (not foreseen in the initial phase of the project) to avoid dangerous accidents near the steps , the planting of green areas, the laying of asphalt in the area affected by the construction site and little else. Returning to the parking hub, as mentioned, the deputy mayor Giorgio Belluardo has ensured 250 free ones (including Maganuco), while the blue paid ones will be limited only to the third small square, at the other end of the Mediterranean seafront. The stretch that goes from the new square to the tobacconist’s bar will also be a pedestrian area this summer to encourage nightlife in the clubs from 7pm to 2am.
