It is the first not only in Italy, but also in Europe. It comes to life PhD of national interest in Peace Studies, promoted by the Network of Italian Universities for Peace, which also includes the University of Pisa, which will host the course at the Department of Law.
Applications can be submitted until July 10th and there are 41 places available, of which 36 with scholarships.
For the University of Pisa, female professors are part of the teaching body Valentina Bonini, Enza Pellecchia and the professor Pierluigi Consorti, while the coordinator of the doctorate is the professor Alessandro Saggioro of the Sapienza University of Rome.
The doctorate, we read in a note from the University of Pisa, presents itself as “A first response from Italian universities to the spread of wars, offering a scientific contribution for conflict management as an alternative to the use of weapons. The objective is to become also a point of reference for international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations offering higher education of an interdisciplinary nature”.
The course is structured in 10 training curricula with the University of Pisa present in two: “Identity, Memories, Religions and Peace” and “Restorative justice, transitional justice and nonviolent conflict transformation”.
