Cocaine trafficking from Calabria to Sicily, 26 convictions

CATANIA 208 years of imprisonment for 26 defendants, with sentences ranging from 3 years and 8 months to 16 years and 4 months, and two acquittals. It is the sentence of the trial born from the operation Kynara of the Catania Flying Squad issued, with the abbreviated procedure, by the investigating judge Pietro Currò, who accepted the requests of the prosecutor Tiziana Laudani. The proceeding was based on the police investigations which culminated, on 15 December 2022, in the arrest of 31 people, some of whom were believed to be affiliated with the Cappello-Bonaccorsi clan, investigated in various capacities for mafia association, criminal association aimed at trafficking and to drug dealing, possession and possession of a firearm. Among the most notable sentences are those of 15 years and four months each to Giacomo Ravasco and Saverio Zoccoli. The judge acquitted Luigi Cipolla and Delio Santillo for not having committed the crime.
