Started with the monumental marble hands of Lorenzo Quinn, the artistic relaunch of Tonfano is about to be completed with an almost year-long project that will weld the three souls of the hamlet into a single path. This is the second edition of the “Homage to artisans” event (in the photo the first of 2022), scheduled from 6 July until 1 June 2025. The route, entitled “Sculpture interprets the sea and the wind: homage in Marina di Pietrasanta”, includes 11 sculptures, of which 7 in via Versilia and 4 at the beginning of the pier, with Quinn’s hands acting as a “hinge” in Piazza XXIV Maggio. The Municipality will start the procedure for the expression of interest aimed at marble laboratories and foundries. “The administration remains faithful to the original project of tourist valorisation through artisanal know-how – we read in the resolution – in line with the strategic nature of the intervention as a good practice of creatively based urban redevelopment through support for the traditional artistic workmanship of Pietrasanta and to promote the privileged relationship between artisans and artists, with positive effects also on the tourist and commercial attractiveness of the area”.
