The diocesan Caritas of Catania will celebrate fifty years of service in the territory of the archdiocese next week. On 19 June, starting from 5pm at the Archbishop’s Seminary of the Clerics of Catania (via Braille 26), the meeting “Half a century of love – 50th anniversary of the Diocesan Caritas of Catania” will be held which will be an opportunity to relive together the most significant moments in the history of the diocesan charity organization in the presence of civil and religious institutions and with the support of the testimonies of volunteers and beneficiaries. The meeting, moderated by the journalist Adelaide Barbagallo, will see the participation, among others, of the archbishop of Catania, Msgr. Luigi Renna and the director of Caritas, Don Nuccio Puglisi. There will also be a moment dedicated to communicating solidarity with Salvo La Rosa and Giuseppe Castiglia.
The following day, June 20th at 5pm at the church of San Nicolò l’Arena in Catania (piazza Dante Alighieri 12), the Eucharistic celebration will be held and a subsequent moment of fraternal agape with the guests. During the morning of June 20th, thanks to the collaboration with the youth ministry, meetings dedicated to young people will take place at the Help Center of the central station to talk about the importance of the daily service of hundreds of volunteers.
