FANO – The State Police in Fano arrested three individuals caught in the act of committing aggravated assault on a young person. The police officers of the Fano police station, directed by Stefano Seretti, in the early afternoon of last Friday, following the reports of some passers-by and the security of the Fano Center, intervened immediately in the car park of the Bellocchi shopping centre, due to a violent attack on three men against a young man.
The three were immediately stopped by the police and taken to the police station, while the victim was rescued by paramedics and taken by air ambulance to the hospital in Torrette di Ancona, where he was hospitalized with a reserved prognosis.
The investigative activity of the officers made it possible to trace the motive for the violent attack, which can be traced back to a traffic dispute that occurred the previous day, again in Fano, between the victim of the attack and a woman. The latter’s son, together with her partner and a third of foreign origin had gone to Bellocchi to verify the possible presence of the young man who, having actually been traced, they followed to the Fano Center. Here, precisely in the car park adjacent to the food court of the shopping centre, they confronted the victim, first attacking her verbally and then physically hitting her with their bare hands. The violent attack had further degenerated through the use of a tool used in construction, a large bricklayer’s pencil, with a blow to the abdomen by the eldest of the group, a companion of the woman who had had the argument with the victim.
The immediate searches of the officers made it possible to find the blunt instrument used for the attack and, in the car used by the woman’s son, other instruments suitable for offending including a knife and a baseball bat which turned out to have been purchased shortly before the ‘aggression. For this reason, the three were arrested by police officers for the crime of aggravated assault, including premeditation.
This morning the Court of Pesaro validated the arrests and ordered the measure of house arrest.
