“The Municipality of Cosenza has obtained a new loan of 2 million 592 thousand euros from the PNRR to build a third public nursery school”. Mayor Franz Caruso announces this with satisfaction, underlining the significant economic commitment for the creation of educational structures put in place, which is unprecedented in the history of the city. This latest loan, in fact, adds to the approximately 2 million euros already obtained for two other nursery schools under construction.

“It’s a important resultthe umpteenth one we have achieved, in the use of PNRR funds which gratifies us greatly because it places Cosenza in the first places in Italy and in Europe – stated in a joint note the mayor Franz Caruso and the councilor for LL.PP. Damiano Covelli – This further funding obtained for the construction of a third public nursery is due, in fact, to the virtuosity demonstrated by our administration both in terms of ability to attract investments, through valid and useful projects for the community, and in terms of spending capacity. A performance that places Cosenza at the top among Italian and European standards for the quality of the proposals and management competence. So much so that the first two nursery schools already financed are in an advanced stage of construction. The one in via Asmara, in particular, will soon be completed and handed over to the citizens, while for the one in Serra Spiga the work started is progressing quickly”.

“The creation of the three new nursery schools – conclude Franz Caruso and Damiano Covelli – is part of the strategy we are carrying out to combat the educational poverty present in our territories. And in fact, single-income families encounter considerable difficulties in accessing private nurseries, as highlighted by recent Istat reports. This produces intergenerational inequality whereby the material difficulties of one generation translate into the deprivation of educational opportunities for the next. A vicious circle that we intend to interrupt to guarantee educational equality for all the children of our city. This is why the three new public nursery schools, added to the two already existing, will place Cosenza among the cities closest to the needs of families and within reach of children“.
