SAN DONATO DI LECCE – A serious loss has hit local and provincial politics. After a long illness, Anna Rita Perrone, municipal councilor of San Donato di Lecce, elected in the 2023 elections with the “Ci SiAmo” list, councilor and deputy mayor in the recent past and current provincial councilor of the majority led by president Stefano Minerva.
A lawyer by profession, always involved in politics, close to the political positions of the former regional councilor and senator Dario Stefàno, she had sat in the city council since 1999, both among the majority and among the opposition, demonstrating her boundless passion for politics and the common good. «The news of the disappearance of the provincial councilor Anna Rita Perrone leaves us astonished – declares the president Stefano Minerva -. It is a sad day for the Province and for the local community.”
For the mayor Alessandro Quarta «Anna Rita was a strong and courageous woman, extremely sweet and gentle with a reassuring smile. She has always been committed to our city by making her professionalism and great competence available to her.” Dario Stefano also speaks of «chilling news that leaves one in dismay. Too soon I lose a friend and a dear traveling companion with whom I lived and shared many human and political battles.”
Citizen mourning has been proclaimed during the funeral which will take place this afternoon at 4.30 pm in the church of the Resurrection of the Lord officiated by the parish priest Don Luca Nuzzaci.
