The promotion in Spring 1 has not arrived, but at home Benevento the balance of last season can only be said to be positive, as regards the U19 team. The Samnites finished the championship in second place in Group B, collecting 60 points in the standings. A high-level result for the Giallorossi, who for a good part of the season remained in the wake of league leaders Cesena, before a final surge from the Romagna team who went on to take the victory (with 73 points) and the consequent promotion to the top flight. But the satisfaction remains for having reached second place, ahead of equipped and renowned clubs – such as Napoli, who finished third – and above all for having contributed to the growth of many products from the youth sector.
Perlingieri… And not only that
In this sense, in an article dedicated to the balance of the year of the Benevento youth sector, the portal Ottopagine.it focuses on the golden era experienced by Mario Perlingieri. The striker born in 2005 concluded the championship by recording top-level numbers with the Campania Primavera: the final haul was in fact 26 goals scored in 20 games. A record season for the young product of the Benevento academy, who in recent weeks has been promoted to the first team, in need of fresh forces in the offensive department.
The response was not long in coming: after 4 tokens collected in the regular phase of the Serie C championship, Perlingieri he scored in the play-offs, scoring his first professional goal. The Samnites’ journey was then interrupted in the semi-final, against Carrarese who were then promoted to Serie B, but in total the attacker was able to make another 6 appearances among the greats, for an appetizer of what awaits him from summer onwards.
Other young people on the launching pad
But it’s not just Perlingieri. In the team coached by Dario Rocco – we read – other individuals stand out who could be useful to Gaetano Auteri’s first team coach. Among these, the very young goalkeeper stands out Alessandro Nunziante, born in 2007, closed by more experienced elements during the recently concluded season. The baby also asks for more space Lorenzo Carfora (’06), already a protagonist during the year, as well as Angelo Viscardi (’04) e Riccardo Rossi (’04), the latter constantly added to the greats without however finding playing time during the championship. They could be joined by other young players from the Primavera, to continue in the virtuous circle of Benevento: from products of the youth team to strong points of the first team.
