In support of the “Calliope” House of Emerging Technologies platform, the municipal administration was among the few local authorities concretely involved in the G7 work.
The event
The Municipality of Taranto, in support of the platform of the House of Emerging Technologies “Calliope”, was a guest of the G7 programming under the Italian presidency in the pavilions of the Fiera del Levante and in workshops dedicated to the international press and the diplomatic corps. Calliope is an innovation hub where latest generation skills and technologies come together to give rise to a translational research program in the One Health field. The project, financed by the Ministry of Enterprise and the Development and Cohesion Fund, focuses on understanding the interactions between environmental, chemical and physical agents and is aimed at the acquisition of data and information, the dissemination of results, technological transfer and to the dissemination of knowledge on the topic towards citizens.

«It is a source of great pride for the administration to be among the few local authorities concretely involved in the work of the G7, due to the quality, impact and international relevance of the projects that the working group of Calliope, of which the Municipality of Taranto is the leader, is generating in all contexts”, says the Head of Cabinet Greta Marraffa. «Through European funds for research and innovation – continues Marraffa – our Cte has already generated more than any other national reality and is representing a real benchmark at community level, thanks also to the collaboration with leading universities and research centers research. The municipal administration strongly believes that this is the right path to definitively push the emancipation of students and businesses in the Ionian land, therefore it will continue to present impactful projects for the new financial planning clusters that are opening up in Europe.

The attention of the great people of the Earth for Taranto and Calliope, they hope at Palazzo di Città, «will connect to the results of the just transition that we are all making together, because it is founded on aspects of the fight against climate change and social inequalities, as well as on applications relating to artificial intelligence, sustainable mobility and the concept of one health. All objectives which, in a desirable scenario of strengthening peace between peoples and improving international relations, are of interest to governments and markets for the season ahead of us.”
