Turin candidate for Europride 2027, with the support of the City of Turin. The official news arrives close to Saturday’s Turin Pride 2024 event. A dossier for the candidacy which will see the light at the end of August: «In 2023 we went to the Europride in Malta and we put together all the reports necessary to present the letter of intent for the candidacy”, says Alessandro Battaglia of the Torino Pride Coordination. This year Battaglia will travel to Thessaloniki, where he will meet the 160 delegates who on November 2 will choose the city that will host the 2027 edition: competing with Turin are Vilnius, Torremolinos and Gloucestershire.
Europride is an event dedicated to the celebration of the international day of LGBT pride, takes place annually, each time in a different European city. For 2 weeks, the host city organizes cultural, sporting, artistic events and concerts, all focused on LGBTQ issues and hosts, every autumn following the event, the annual conference of Epoa, the federation that brings together the European LGBT associations organizing Europride, which assigns the event for the following years. Europride generally ends with a Pride march and a vigil to commemorate the victims of AIDS.
