“Reggio Sette Punto Zero, while maintaining coherence in the line of guaranteeism that it has always followed, cannot fail to take into account the strong discomfort felt from a political point of view in witnessing while Mayor Falcomatà appears calm and carefree around while the city continues to sink more in an abyss of degradation and incivility, together with the national media shame that is affecting it. He doesn’t care about the problems of Reggio nor the mud that is raining on us from the newspapers and the Italian press.” This is what he states in a note Reggio Sette Punto Zero.
“And while its incredible supporters at Palazzo San Giorgio sound forced, unlikely notes of solidarity, the city shows tourists the ugliest face it has ever had for 40 years now. Just pass by Piazza De Nava, what should be the most important agora not only of Reggio but of the whole of Calabria if not of the whole of the south, given the international scope of the two statues that are housed in front of it: abandoned to wild parking, occupations deprived of public spaces with concessions issued without criteria at the same time as the very long public works that are already devastating it from a logistical and image point of view; there is a lack of surveillance necessary to restore a modicum of decorum and civic dignity”.
“Hundreds of groups of holidaymakers disembark with Ryanair flights every week and witness widespread widespread illegality on the streets and pavements, invaded by illegal vendors and rubbish. We can already see the reports and reviews of these poor tourists, while the TVs vomit criminal bile onto our city.”
“And he dedicates himself to award ceremonies and photographic shots, smiling and regardless of what damage the sad and dark years of his bad government have caused to all of us, he distributes proxies as if nothing had happened, as if he really hadn’t noticed that the closing credits of the his administrative splatter film are already flowing. Falcomatà also gives a smile back to the people of Reggio: he finally goes home.”
