Savona – Yet another difficult morning for traffic. Shortly after 1pm today, Friday 14 June, the driver of a car, who was traveling on the A10 motorway between Albisola and Savona, lost control. The car ended up against the mountain side wall and luckily the driver was only slightly injured. The accident, however, sent traffic is haywire: five kilometers of queues have formed on the A10, many cars exited at the Albisola toll booth, also clogging Corso Mazzini and Via Aurelia, up to the center of Savona.
Autostrade per l’Italia then even recommended the Celle exit for vehicles coming from Genoa. The crew of the 118 with the medical vehicle, an ambulance from the Green Cross and the firefighters, while the Sampierdarena COA police force and the Autostrade per l’Italia staff they tried to manage the flow of vehicles during the rescue. Among other things, given that the accident occurred on a stretch of only two lanes, the emergency vehicles struggled to reach the exact spot due to the queued vehicles stopped in the middle of the road. At the moment the motorway has been reopened and traffic is flowing, albeit slowly, but it will take time to clear the queue.
