On Wednesday morning, the staff of the Cagliari Flying Squad reported four foreign citizens, two men and two women between the ages of 19 and 24, originally from Romania, for the alleged crime of fraud in competition with each other.

The Agents intervened at the “I Fenicotteri” Shopping Center as a report had been received regarding the presence of two women who, pretending to be deaf and dumb, were asking for money from customers entering the Centre.

The police identified a car with a Romanian license plate in the parking area of the aforementioned shopping center and proceeded to identify the occupants.

During the search of the vehicle, the Agents found an envelope containing fake fundraising forms plus a crumpled one which reported signatures, postal codes and city names as well as the sums received as donations from unsuspecting citizens.

The sum of the amounts indicated in the form amounted to €270. Furthermore, a payment receipt was also found, for an amount of €450, made by one of the people arrested in favor of his father

The personal search carried out on the two couples led to the discovery of a further €347, while in the subsequent search of some campers in use by them the sum of €560 was found, divided into banknotes of various denominations.

Overall, the sum of approximately €1,200 was found and seized, believed to be the proceeds of the illicit activity.

At the end of the investigations, the four were reported in a state of freedom for the hypothesis of the crime of fraud in collaboration with each other.
