One is the sea of Piacenza people of yesterday, the other the sea of Piacenza people of today. The two rivers respectively, the Po and the Trebbia are the protagonists of “In the viewfinder”, this evening at 9pm on Telelibertà. In the program hosted by Nicoletta Bracchi with the journalist Thomas Trenchi, guests will be Giulia Cazzaniga, professor at the Piacenza branch of the Polytechnic of Milan, who deals with productive and river landscapes, the environmental councilor Serena Groppelli, Roberto Pasquali, mayor of Bobbio, and Andrea Gatti, just elected mayor of Rivergaro.
It will be an opportunity to discuss the critical issues and opportunities of the two rivers.

For example, we will ask ourselves what the current state is, in terms of flow, of the Trebbia river, what the quality of its waters is and the environmental monitoring programs implemented to prevent pollution of the river.

We will then address the issue of swimmers who crowd the shores during the summer: we will discuss the dangers that can be faced and the too many accidents we witness every summer, but we will also try to understand what measures can guarantee the safety of tourists.

As regards the Po, whose connection with Piacenza has been increasingly waning in recent decades, we will look into how to reconnect the river to the city. In this sense, the project of the new cycle/pedestrian ring will be framed to safely connect the city and the riverside and we will try to understand where we are on the path started by the Region in 2022, called “Towards a strategic vision for the Po”, of which Piacenza is also the protagonist.
