In detail, Ferrovinord has officially communicated that “the redevelopment of the Como Borghi station is currently in the planning phase. Some technical solutions capable of improving the management of the construction site and minimizing the impacts of the works on normal railway circulation are being explored. Work is expected to start between the end of September and the beginning of October. I will update you with resignation on the works in Como Borghi which include, among other things, the construction of the pedestrian underpass and which do not seem to have ever started.
To date, trains continue not to cross each other at Como Borghi, for questionable safety reasons, accumulating delays often of around 25 minutes.
The underpass which has been discussed for years, in 2018 was supposed to be ready in 2020, in March 2022 it was supposed to be ready by 2024. The president of FerrovieNord Caradonna declared: “392 days of work, 4 million spent. I will meet the residents.”
Five months ago I wrote to FerrovieNord for information. This is the answer:
“…as already anticipated in response to your previous reports, we confirm that FERROVIENORD regulates traffic safely, based on the progress of the trains and on the basis of the program agreed with the railway company. As regards the works in Como Borghi, also in this case we confirm what has already been communicated: the start is expected within the first half of 2024 and the conclusion around a year later.

A month ago I wrote to FerrovieNord for information. This is the answer:
“…we thank you for your report. The redevelopment of the Como Borghi station – which involves the construction of new platforms and shelters, the renewal of the railway infrastructure and systems and the creation of the pedestrian underpass for access from via Carloni – is currently in the planning phase . Specifically, some technical solutions are being explored that can improve the management of the construction site and minimize the impacts of the works on normal railway circulation. Work is expected to start between the end of September and the beginning of October. The estimated duration is approximately one year.

In short, in 4 months between one response and another the work was postponed for 4/5 months without ever starting.
The question that arises spontaneously is: will they ever start? Is it normal for it to take 3 and a half years (if all goes well) to make an underpass?
