Taranto: Review of The Strings that Play

Third appointment with the LE CORDE CHE SUONANO review included in the 80th concert season of the Friends of Music “Arcangelo Speranza” organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Taranto.

Taking the stage on Friday 14 June, in the ancient Cloister of the MUDI in Taranto starting at 9 pm, MAIORCHORDA, a well-known popular music group, will present the project LE VILLANELLE NAPOLETANE and which sees the participation of Claudio De Vittorio, Bruno Galeone , Stefano De Dominicis, Daria Falco, Gianni Gelao and Samuel Mele, as well asthe participation of Prof.ssa Sandra Taveri.

The show contains songs and melodies from other times about Neapolitan villanelles, still current to describe a society rich in meanings and symbols that allow the success of these sounds, making them a riot of harmonies, pleasantly engaging in rhythm and tremendously catchy. Between love affairs, parodies and teasing, he has always made himself irresistible even in the super digital modern world. On the other hand, Villanesca is perfect for creating complicity with the audience due to her irreverence and fun.

Of particular interest is the program that will be proposed and which, starting with Cinderella’s Villanella, will continue with In galera li panettieri, Vurria addiventare Ricciulina, Ecco filena, Marinaresca, Li Figliole, Antidotum and tarantella of the 1600s, Aggiu giratu u munno, Sia maledetta water, Spinule francise and, finally, Our Lady of Graces. A concert that will not fail to involve the public and that will bring back to the memory of many some musical moments linked to Maestro Roberto De Simone.

The cost of tickets is €15.00 (single seat) and they are already on sale at the Amici della Musica in via Abruzzo n. 61, or online directly on the website www.amicidellamusicataranto.it. For all other information contact the numbers 099.7303973 or 329.3462658.
