Milan, 11 June. (askanews) – The sixth edition of the “Casavecchia and Pallagrello Wine Festival” is scheduled for June 30th and July 5th, 6th and 7th in the historic center of Pontelatone (Caserta), an event that celebrates the richness and diversity of the vines native to the area, highlighting two of the most distinctive varieties of Campania: Casavecchia and Pallagrello.

Four days of tastings, workshops, live music and quality food for the event organized by the Strada del Vino del Casavecchia di Pontelatone and by the Pro loco and the Municipality of Pontelatone. Also in this edition, the protagonists will be the producers of the two denominations, with the aim of giving space and voice to these vines, consolidating their presence and importance in the Campania and Italian wine scene in general.

In Piazza Cavour there will be the tasting stands of the cellars while in Piazza Cutillo the food area will be set up. One of the first important innovations of this year is dedicated precisely to food: the restaurants and businesses in the area will prepare the dishes that will be offered to the public over the four days: La Monticella farmhouse, Caputo Raffaele farm, Punto e Pasta, A Patricella, La Baronia and Antica Casella Dairy. Furthermore, the gastronomic and oenological itinerary will also be accompanied by that dedicated to desserts.

The inauguration is scheduled for 6pm on June 30th in the presence of the heads of the bodies and administrations involved, and then the food areas and the route dedicated to the cellars will open. Also on the program is a special Masterclass led by Luciano Pignataro and a demonstration of mozzarella spinning, one of the area’s flagship products.

“Our ambition is that our two denominations represent a magnet to attract wine tourists to the area, the Wine Route itself is growing and this is a decidedly positive sign” declared the president of the Casavecchia di Pontelatone Wine Route, Giuseppe Chillemi, explaining that “in addition to the Municipality of Pontelatone, a founding member, the Municipalities of Caiazzo, Liberi and Piana have joined, confirming the greater penetration of these two wines in our territory. At the same time – he announced – we are imagining a zoning project for the vineyards, increasing the attention and increasingly qualifying the work of the cellars as well as the oenologists who, together, are offering the world of wine products of an ever higher level, both below the profile of whites and reds”.
