Europa Verde Toscana is thrilled to announce an extraordinary electoral result in the recent elections. Against all expectations, we obtained over 124,000 votes, 30,000 more than in previous national elections, reaching an excellent 7.6%. In some cities, such as Florence, we came close to 11%. A result that completely overturns the regional balance where we stand as the second force in the centre-left coalition.
We are particularly proud to have brought our candidate, Ignazio Marino, to Europe. Marino will work intensely on two fundamental issues: Health and Environment. “These results demonstrate the growing support for our green movement and the desire of citizens to see real change,” said Eros Tetti, Co Regional Spokesperson for Green Europe – Verdi.
Even in the local elections, our lists collected thousands of votes in Livorno, Capannori, Prato and Florence. If Funaro wins the ballot, two excellent ecologists will be elected, and our best wishes go to them as do all those elected on our lists in all the municipalities where we were present.
In light of these elections, in which the ecological vote was strongly rewarded, Green Europe is ready to relaunch the ecological movement throughout the region. We have crucial issues to defend in the institutions: from the Apuan Alps to air quality, from water protection to our environment in general.
“I take this opportunity to reiterate that Green Europe is a home open to all those who share our founding values, if we don’t do it, no one will. And now, everyone is working to win the ballots still in progress, first of all the one in Florence!” added Tetti.
