Italy’s medal table at the 2024 European Athletics Championships: the Azzurri have already beaten the record set in Split 1990
With the bronzes on Sunday 9 June by Zyanab Dosso in the women’s 100 meters and by Catalin Tecuceanu in the men’s 800 metres, the European Championships in Rome 2024 – scheduled at the Olympic Stadium from 7 to 12 June – for the Azzurri are increasingly becoming a triumph. While waiting for Gianmarco Tamberi in the high jump final, Italy has already won 7 golds in this important competition which already gives us a foretaste of the next Paris 2024 Olympics. This is a historic result: as we write to you, in fact, 15 medals that made Mameli’s anthem resound, a number that beat the previous record of 12 obtained at the 1990 European Championship in Split.
In order not to lose count and to celebrate all our athletes, let’s look back at all the golds, silvers and bronzes in Italy’s medal table at the 2024 European Athletics Championships.
