Saputo is in Bologna, at a decisive moment for the club, with many important decisions to make.
It’s true, yesterday we saw him take a (well-deserved) day off. In fact, he attended the first leg of the play-off quarter-finals against Juventus, with his son Jesse busy with the Under 17s. From today Joey will start dedicating himself to the transfer market and team training again.
Yesterday was an afternoon for Saputo as a simple spectator, in the company of his other son, Luca and, although a couple of rows below, his wife Carmie and his son’s girlfriend. They followed the match carefully, participating as they cheered on the team.
Juventus managed to take control with two goals, disheartening the crowd and the Saputo family. The fans almost fell silent and after an hour of play Jesse even left due to cramps.
So not a positive ending, but despite this, Joey found time to make the fans happy who asked him for a photo during the break.
This 0-2 in favor of Juve does not make the position of Biavati’s team easy. It is unlikely that the situation will change radically in the next match in Vinovo, but the team will certainly commit, fighting until the end. The second half, in fact, demonstrated greater skill in the game on the part of the players, giving hope for the return match.
From today onwards Saputo’s attention will be entirely on the first team: the meetings between Sartori, Di Vaio and Italiano will be fundamental to finding the right approach for the rossoblù future. The technical director recently declared that the first step is to carefully analyze the market, to build an ad hoc team for next season.
Saputo’s goal now is to build a solid future for the club and the week that has just begun could be decisive for the fate of BFC.
