Savona. City of Savona’s season and regional playoff phase ends with a defeat. The victory of the Bench (the match played at Olmo-Ferro ended 1-2) it was decisive for Roberto Biffi’s farewell who, from today, will no longer be the coach of the Banners.
The club’s sporting director Alessio Barone spoke after the match and commented on the negative streak in this decisive playoff phase and the possible future of the team and the club.
“We have nevertheless honored this final phase – explains the interviewee -. Today some players found space who had less during the season and two 2008 players were given their debuts. From this point of view the club is happy, However, we are not satisfied with this parenthesis in the regional playoffs. The week was troubled because, when you are close to the goal and they don’t get results, there is regret and you are not happy.”
“The team has always given everything – continues Barone -. Evidently, the others were better and luckier than us managing to have results that we were unable to obtain.”
The club is partly happy for these months under Biffi’s guidance, but the zero points collected in recent weeks have been decisive for its future and that of the team: “There will be a few days of reflection. It seemed right to me to end this phase of the regional playoffs first to honor those who have worn these colors and coached them up until now. From tomorrow onwards the future of this company will be prepared.”
“Perhaps there was a lack of malice and experience in the crucial phases of this journey – concludes the biancoblù manager – these will be the most important peculiarities to look for. Every year has its own history, we will evaluate what we need to do to try to play a top championship next season. This is our will.”
