Pesaro, Matteo Ricci elected MEP – News Pesaro – CentroPagina

Ricci followed the long electoral counting with the local leaders of the Democratic Party

PESARO – Matteo Ricci elected as European parliamentarian. The result of the preferences is not definitive, but the former mayor of Pesaro has had his fill of votes with over 84 thousand preferences when there are 2000 sections left to scrutinise.
He is in third place in the Central Italian college after the secretary Elly Schlein and Dario Nardella. He also surpassed Nicola Zingaretti.

All that is missing is the official status and the final count but Pesaro will have an MEP. Alessia Morani from Pesaro is in the balance.

The Marche PD writes: «With almost 26% of the votes, the Marche PD confirms itself as a growing opposition force, above the national figure. The surprising election of Matteo Ricci, to whom our warmest congratulations go, and the wait for the latest data from the Lazio constituencies on the assignment of the last seat with Alessia Morani at stake, These are two extraordinary and unexpected results. The third Marche player Michele Franchi also made a nice statement. The Marche is no longer a colony of Melons and from now on we will work harder for an alternative to the Acquaroli government. We now await the latest data with trepidation, knowing that the Marche PD will finally have its own representative in the European Parliament and maybe even a second.”

The first comments are already arriving from Anna Maria Mattioli: «We have written a page of entirely Pesaro history. Thanks to those who believed in it.”
