The European and Regional Elections continue in Turin: 667,150 Turin residents are voting (more women than men). The numbers

The electoral office of the City of Turin informs that this afternoon at 3pm almost all of the 919 polling stations – in addition to 43 special polling stations and 5 for voting for off-site students – opened regularly.

There were two polling stations, although regularly constituted in the morning, which were forced to postpone their opening. This is seat 320, located in the Massimo Mila secondary school in via Germonio 12, in District 3, where the appointed president, due to a sudden problem that occurred at the time of opening, had to be replaced. At polling station 589, in the Alberto Sabin school in Corso Vercelli 157, in District 6, the president, who had been appointed late in the morning, instead suffered a delay on his way to the polling station. In both cases the City’s Civic Services sent support staff to speed up the opening operations. Both polling stations then opened regularly.

The polls are open today, Sunday, from 7am to 11pm.

The citizens of Turin entitled to vote in the European elections are 667,150, of these 350,798 are females and 316,352 males. For the regional elections the electoral body is made up of 688,711 Turin citizens, divided between 360,195 females and 328,516 males.

Anyone who has lost their electoral card can go to one of the offices which will remain open on an extraordinary basis to issue duplicates.

The electoral office in Corso Valdocco and the central registry office in via Giulio 22 will be open today until 11pm and tomorrow from 7am to 11pm. The decentralized registry offices of District 2 in via Guido Reni 96/1; District 3, Corso Racconigi 94; District 5, via Stradella 192, District 8, via Campana 30 will be open today until 8.30 pm and tomorrow from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm.

SECTION VARIATION

The unusability of some school buildings is the reason for the relocation of 34 polling stations. Interested citizens have received notification of the new sections in which they will be able to vote, together with the coupon to update their electoral card. Special signs will be posted in correspondence with the unusable seats informing them of the move.

By accessing the ToSeggio section of the Electoral Service page of the City of Turin website (http://www.comune.torino.it/elezioni/toseggio.shtml) and entering the street and house number of residence, it is possible to find out the number and location of the section where you can exercise your right to vote.

HOW TO VOTE

To vote, you need a personal identification document (any identification document with a photograph issued by the Public Administration; driving license; electronic identity card receipt) and a permanent personal electoral card. Identification of the voter is also possible in the case of identity cards and other identification documents issued by the public administration that have expired, provided that they are regular in every other respect and ensure the identification of the voter. In the absence of a suitable document, identification can take place through attestation from one of the members of the polling station who knows the voter personally.

The voter will be given two ballots, one for the European elections (grey) and one for the regional elections (green).
