Milan – It ended only late at night the odyssey of the passengers of the Venice-Milan Frecciarossaremained blocked for four hours in the Brescia area due to a technical failure which also led to a power outage on board. The train left Venice at 5pm yesterday but shortly after 7pm, having passed the Brescia station, it stopped at Casirate d’Adda.

As reported by some passengers, it was very hot in the carriages and many passengers felt severe discomfort. “We have been in the dark ever since, without air conditioning and the heat is getting worse and worse,” said Giovanna, a doctor who was returning from a conference. “They gave us water and snacks, but we can’t get off the train, nor open the doors to let some air in,” she told Tgr Lombardia.

After two hours, at 9.30 pm, Trenitalia was ready a rescue locomotive but the train continued to move very slowly until it stopped again. Only at 11pm did another convoy arrive which allowed the passengers to reach Milan around midnight. Trenitalia announced that it had immediately activated the rescue intervention, providing assistance to the passengers, both on board during the stop and at the Milan Central Station.
