The intervention of the Radiomobile Unit was immediate and, together with colleagues from the Operations Unit of the Fontanarossa Company and the Nesima Station, they quickly reached the reported house, finding a terrified woman crying on the doorstep and an ambulance moving away. The 45-year-old from Catania, ex-wife of the stabbed man, was still in a state of shock, but managed to tell the investigators that shortly before, for reasons of jealousy, a furious argument had started between her current partner, a 41-year-old from Acireale, and her ex-husband, a 50-year-old from Catania.

The clash between the two then degenerated when the man from Aceh, blinded by anger, grabbed a kitchen knife and started hitting his opponent several times, forcing him to flee into the street to ask for help. The wounded man, bleeding, was immediately helped by the 118 medical staff, who transported him to the emergency room of the San Marco hospital, with his life not in danger.
The military personnel discovered that the attacker, after the scuffle, proceeded to remove the stains from the floor of the house. At the crime scene, however, the investigators of the Scientific Section, thanks to the help of sophisticated technical instruments, managed to highlight the traces of blood, also ascertaining that the assailant had injured his hand during the struggle.
The search for the man began immediately, initially at his parents’ home in Acireale where, however, he could not be found as the 41-year-old had gone for medical tests booked some time ago. Therefore, the soldiers of the Fontanarossa Unit, after having identified the medical office where he would have gone, cordoned off the area and ensured a remote observation service, which allowed him to be identified inside the waiting room. Immediately reached, he was taken out of the medical center and secured. The man was arrested and the provision was validated, ordering his imprisonment in the Piazza Lanza prison.
