Former outlet sold at auction, now reborn

Eyebello. After a thousand vicissitudes and failures, the former Occhiobello outlet was finally sold at auction, yesterday 5 June, by a company that has every intention of redeveloping it and bringing it back to life.

This was announced by mayor Sondra Coizzi, candidate for re-election, who in doing so also removes a few stones.

“I express true satisfaction – he announces – in learning that in this morning’s auction session the complex of the former Occhiobello outlet, bankruptcy of Occhiobello Outlet Village srl, was awarded by the same company that also acquired the land at the sides of the complex, from the bankruptcy of Costruzioni Generali srl. The sad Outlet affair is over. Now begins the era of redevelopment, of rebirth. It is not yet possible to make the name of the company public until all the assignment procedures have been completed, but I can say that the contacts with the aspiring buyers and my administration began two years ago and the redevelopment and return to productivity project of this site is formidable.”

“The run-down and never started outlet, a financial operation of private individuals supported by the Municipality, so much so that it seemed like it was almost a work of the old mayor – adds Coizzi – will soon be just a melancholy memory. How many companies have failed, how much money wasted, how many resources wasted. The Municipality of Occhiobello entered into the bankruptcy debt for approximately one million euros, and also had to pay tens of thousands of euros in penalties (during the Coizzi administration period) for non-regulatory expropriations. I’ve had to deal with this too over the years. And there are those who have the courage to say that I didn’t do anything…”.

“The Outlet – he explains – has had a complicated and complex history, full of traps and obstacles, it was created facing serious uncertainties, it was inaugurated with great fanfare in 2017 with a small number of shops: an outlet created to encourage the territory and instead ended up in legal disputes and important companies ruined. And several of the administrators who were protagonists of that phase have now run again in the elections. If the outlet operation represents the much vaunted competence of these former directors, I would honestly be very worried about the next five years.”

“The outlet that failed before it was born – concludes the first citizen – will now be a serious and effective production reality. The buyers presented a plan that will certainly bring renewal and benefit to the area. I am very satisfied to have followed and accompanied these investors to believe in Occhiobello and its rebirth”.
