PERUGIA – Umbria to the vote. On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June, 683,547 Umbrians (508,291 in the province of Perugia and 175,256 in that of Terni) were called to the polls in the 1000 polling stations located throughout the region for the European elections. They have the task of choosing the 15 members of the European Parliament belonging to the central Italy constituency (which in addition to Umbria includes Lazio, Marche and Tuscany).

On the same days, 404,416 Umbrian electricians and voters (353,114 in the province of Perugia, 51,302 in that of Terni) will go to vote for the election of the mayor and the renewal of the municipal council in 60 centers of the region (39 in the Perugino area and 21 in the Ternano area ).

Municipalities over 15 thousand inhabitants

All eyes are on the most important challenge, that of Perugia. In addition to the capital, 6 other municipalities over 15 thousand inhabitants are going to vote: Bastia Umbra, Castiglione del Lago, Foligno, Gubbio, Marsciano (all falling in the province of Perugia) and Orvieto (the only one among the big ones in the province of Terni).

This is the list of the 33 municipalities under 15 thousand inhabitants in the Perugino area voting for the administrative elections: Campello sul Clitunno, Castel Ritaldi, Cerreto di Spoleto, Citerna, Città della Pieve, Collazzone, Costacciaro, Fossato di Vico, Fratta Todina, Giano dell’ Umbria, Gualdo Cattaneo, Gualdo Tadino, Lisciano Niccone, Magione, Massa Martana, Monte Castello di Vibio, Montefalco, Montone, Norcia, Paciano, Panicale, Piegaro, Pietralunga, Preci, San Giustino. Sant’Anatolia di Narco, Scheggia and Pascelupo, Sellano, Sigillo, Spello, Torgiano, Tuoro sul Trasimeno, Vallo di Nera. In the province of Terni there are 20 smaller centers called to vote for the municipal elections: Acquasparta, Allerona, Alviano, Arrone, Baschi, Castel Viscardo, Fabro, Ficulle, Guardea, Lugnano in Teverina, Montecchio, Montefranco, Montegabbione, Monteleone d’Orvieto, Penna in Teverina, Polino, Porano, San Gemini, San Venanzo, Stroncone.

When you vote

The polling stations will be open on two days: Saturday 8 June from 3.00 pm to 11.00 pm and Sunday 9 June from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm.

Cards and documents

For the European elections, the voter will be given a red ballot. Instead, the card used for administrative offices will be blue. To vote you must show up at the polling station with your voter card and identification document.

Turnout and count data

Communications on voter participation in the consultations will be provided at 11pm on Saturday and at 12pm, 7pm and 11pm on Sunday. The counting of ballots for the European elections will begin on June 9th at 11pm, immediately after the closing of voting operations. The counting of the Municipal elections will begin at 2pm on Monday 10 June.
