ROME (ITALPRESS) – Europe should facilitate investments in social issues: healthcare and low wages are the first problems to be addressed for the leader of Action, Carlo Calenda. Interviewed by Claudio Brachino for the Italpress agency column “Primo Piano – European elections 2024” he explained: “We must facilitate the investments that are made on social issues, wages, training, healthcare, with a credit line that is essentially the ESM, guaranteed by European debt and much less expensive, the budget that Europe has is small because the member states do not want to give it powers. Today Europe is not a great power, the states do not want to delegate powers to Europe. if it works like this we will be crushed, without a common position we will not survive. We think that today the reason why Europe doesn’t decide is that if Hungary stands up and says ‘I don’t vote for something’ we won’t move forward – he added -. The reform of the treaties is very complex in the meantime, however the large European countries should move forward to do things together, if we wait for all the EU countries we will get nowhere”. sat/gsl/mrv
