The African anticyclone has taken hold of Italy and will favor a few stable and largely sunny days in Lombardy, with temperatures projected to entirely summer values. The peak of the heat is expected over the weekend, in particular on the day of Saturday, when the maximum temperatures will widely exceed 30°C in the plains. In particular, peaks of 29/30°C will be recorded in Milan, 31/32°C in Brescia, 30/31°C in Monza, 28/29°C in Lecco and Como. The only disturbances will be represented by some diurnal variability in the mountainous areas, with the formation of short showers or heat thunderstorms in the Alps, which will end in the evening. Already in the course of Sunday however the situation will begin to change. The anticyclone will lose blows near Northern Italy, under the pressure of humid and unstable southwestern currents, within which a front responsible for a gradual worsening will flow. This will result in rain and thunderstorms first in the Alps, then by the evening in most of the plains, locally strong and accompanied by hail. Temperatures will begin to lose a few degrees in maximum values, but it will still be hot and maximums could reach 30°C in the plains. Monday the front will move away towards the east and the first hours of the new week will be sunnier. In the afternoon, however, there will be a resurgence of instability in the Alpine mountains, with the formation of thunderstorms that will spill over to the high plains in the evening. Temperatures will undergo a marked decrease, with highs around 25/27°C. With the dismantling of the anticyclone also in the next days conditions will remain unstable at times, with alternating clear spells and clouds, associated with at times strong thunderstorms and a further drop in temperatures.
