A year after the events, work continues to bring the 6-year-old girl home despite “highly complex investigations”

FLORENCE – The investigation into the disappearance of Kataleya Alvarez Chicchlo “remains highly complexa circumstance aggravated by the fact that the news of the disappearance arrived with a time gap compared to the disappearance, but also because we believe based on the elements collected that it is the result of the implementation of a plan that was well organized in detail, and not an extemporaneous activity“.

This is what the chief prosecutor of Florence, Filippo Spiezia, declared during a press conference to take stock of the investigative activities one year after the disappearance of the little girl of Peruvian origins at the former Astor hotel. “We are continuing on multiple tracks – he adds – the difference compared to the initial phase is that our work is more selective with respect to the hypotheses taken into consideration“.

In particular, he underlines, “the leads are drug trafficking, the room racket at the former Astor hotel, mistaken identity, possible sexual abuse”. Spiezia specifies: “The investigations continue, they have never been interrupted.
