The Carabinieri of the Anti-adulteration and Health Unit of Taranto carried out an inspection at a gym in the capital of Brindisi together with soldiers from the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate Unit of the capital. During the verification, also conducted with the help of technical personnel from the Prevention Department of the ASL of Brindisi – SISP – aimed at verifying the structural and functional requirements of the sports facility, as well as safeguarding health and safety in the workplace and combating illegal work, several serious irregularities were detected which led to the immediate suspension of business activity.
In particular, inside the gym the following were detected: structural criticalities; sale of food, drinks and supplements in the absence of the required health SCIA; the employment of four workers not regularly hired; the lack of health surveillance of workers; the lack of information and training of workers; failure to prepare the required risk assessment document. DVR.
The owner was charged with the aforementioned violations and was consequently reported to the local Public Prosecutor’s Office.
