Four international awards have been received in just a few months for the Gin Shorisilver medal for a few days (with 90 points), toInternational Wine and Spirits Competition 2024 (IWSC). The idea of this fresh, fragrant, soft and engaging gin is Luca Ghelarducci together with his wife Sandra Vianelloowners of Agriottaa well-known venue located in San Bartolomeo Al Marewhere spirits are the daily passion.

The gin idea arrives in 2022, after winning an ad competition Aromatic to Diano Marina. The winning cocktail, containing tropical ingredients, had a high pleasantness index. Hence the inspiration to create Gin Shoria distillate that contains the notes of mango and passion fruit. So Gin Shori made its debut last summer, precisely on July 4th.

The words of Luca Ghelarducci

“About a year ago we made this gin based on mango and passion fruit, a very delicate gin. After the victory in the Aromatica cocktail competition, this idea grew in me to create a soft gin, which could easily reach everyone without losing anything in quality. I wanted a spirit capable of offering the public something that wasn’t there yet, with a different taste,” he commented Luca Ghelarducci.

Last Monday, June 3, the silver medal, with 90 points, atInternational Wine Spirits Competition which takes place in London. Even before the silver medal World Gin Awards in London as the second best Italian gin in the world, the silver medal with 92 points at the Berlin International Spirits Competition in Berlin and yet another medal at London Spirit. “We are very satisfied – declared Ghelarducci – with the results obtained both nationally and internationally. Four international awards in a short time are proof of this great quality and originality of the product“.

Gin Shori

The name? “My daughter is called Vittoria which in Japanese is called Shori. I wanted the name of my gin to have an important meaning”, Luca explained to us.

The particular identity of Gin Shori is given by mango and passion fruit, which are distilled together. United with them and subjected to a separate distillation are the elements that give Gin Shori the classic characteristics of its category: juniper, cardamom, angelica and coriander, which are distilled together with orange and lemon, two citrus fruits that serve to balance the sweetness of tropical fruit. The result is a distillate drywithout added sugars, whose processing is entrusted to an excellence in the sector: the Bordiga distillery.
