PERUGIA- A grateful return to the ranks of Bartoccini Fortinfissi Perugia which, after just one season, puts Beatrice Gardini back on its roster. The twenty-one year old from Ravenna will complete the spikers department, already strong with Ungureanu, Pecorari and Traballi.
Beatrice has already played for Perugia in the 2022/2023 season, when in fact it was her first experience in the top flight. In that year, although it culminated with the club’s relegation, Beatrice showed excellent qualities which earned her the call of Megabox Vallefoglia, with which she played another very good season in the top flight.
And now comes the reverse path, with the hammer from Ravenna returning to Umbria to wear the Black Angels shirt again.
The words of Beatrice Gardini-
« Even though I have already been to Perugia in a very difficult year, I immediately felt at home. As soon as I heard about the opportunity to return to Bartoccini Fortinfissi, I immediately accepted. This is because it means that, despite the relegation, the club has respect for me and, feeling this trust from the club is very important.”
In this last year, how does Beatrice feel she has grown and improved?
“More than from a technical point of view, I feel that I have grown in awareness of my abilities, my qualities and the contribution I can make to the team.”
Gardini will find himself in an environment he already knows well. The adjustment will certainly be easier, even if there will only be one of the former teammates in the new roster…
« I only meet Benedetta Bartolini again, with whom I had already played here at Bartoccini Fortinfissi two years ago. I only know the others because perhaps I faced them as an opponent. In any case, part of last year’s lineup will be the same and this is important, because beyond the quality of the individuals, I believe that the real strength of last season’s team was in the cohesion of the group. The work of Andrea Giovi, who I had already met in Perugia in the role of assistant and who I now find as first coach, was certainly fundamental in this. I always thought that he could have the qualities to be the coach of a team. He has a different vision and sensitivity towards us athletes which comes above all from his important career as a player. I’m happy to be able to work with him again. In summary we can say that the foundations are there and in general the team gives us hope ».
