In Tuscany, the Tari – the waste tax – has recorded a general increase. Among the most virtuous provinces, however, is Lucca which, together with Grosseto, reverses the trend of increases. The Uil union underlines the trend by reporting a survey relating to the years 2022 and 2023.
“There is also good news – underlines the union – Among the ten most virtuous Italian cities, we find Lucca and Grosseto; Lucca stands in eighth place with a decrease of 3.49%”.
The data, naturally, brought a sparkle to the eyes of the municipal administration of Lucca, which was particularly satisfied with this result.
“Lucca is an Italian excellence for the waste tax – says the mayor Mario Pardini – when we talk about this administration there are usually two approaches: there is an imaginative narrative, which claims that we have spent everything in futility, and then there is the irrefutable reality of facts and numbers, which speak of a virtuous government.”
The mayor continues: “After having presented a report with a free surplus of over eleven million, double what we found two years ago when we took office, now comes the news that the productive effort of the staff and the board of directors of Sistema Environment, of the councilors Consani, Bruni and of the municipal offices – whom I thank – has brought Lucca to an Italian excellence from the point of view of the percentage variation of the Tari, with lower costs and greater savings for our citizens: there are those who speak and there are those who act – concludes the mayor – and we are the administration of doing”.
Applause also from the councilors for the environment Cristina Consani and for the budget Moreno Bruni: “We are satisfied with the work carried out regarding the mitigation of the increases for the waste tax, which sees Lucca among the ten most virtuous Italian cities from the point of view of variation percentage – say the two administrators -; from the study of the economic, fiscal and social security policies service, a significant increase in the tax burden for Tuscan families can be seen, which in particular will weigh on the economy of the less well-off ones; instead a nice exception, thanks to a scrupulous work plan which, in concert with Sistema Ambiente, allowed us to reduce the increases foreseen for the tariff as much as possible, linked to a series of rigid parameters established by law by Arera”.
The councilors conclude: “During the operations aimed at mitigating the tariff increase, we also involved the local trade associations at the working tables, in order to share objectives and methods of progress”.
