the post and the photo

There is no peace in the controversy that animates the ‘not easy’ relationship between the road sign artist Clet and the municipal police. Only a month ago, Clet – always committed to claiming the goodness of his interventions on the road as artistic and not vandalistic acts – had created an original provocative installation at the crossroads between Lungarno Torrigiani and Ponte alle Grazie which was promptly removed by the police.

The creative person had made his complaints via social media, reiterating his beliefs and raising the question: how can the administration, which often accuses me of vandalism, fight against those who litter the city if it cannot understand the difference between art that does not destroy but amplifies meanings?

A question destined not to be answered, so much so that in Clet’s latest Instagram post there are, in the foreground, the police, three (a number which has aroused quite a few comments on the noticeboard) who, pen in hand, report the report as a ‘transgressor’ precisely for the last intervention at the entrance to Lungarno Torrigiani.

Below the photograph Clet tells what happened with irony. The police did not go to visit him “to learn to drawso as to be able to understand the difference between Art and vandalism”, rather they gave him two reports and in quotation marks he reports the contents of an “worthy of an art manual” triggering the solidarity of his followers.
