CIVITAVECCHIA – “An interesting meeting organized by the AVS/DEMOS list took place yesterday 3 June at the Think Thank space in Via Annovazzi, in the presence of a large number of teachers, on the theme: “The public school at the Bivio: the legacy of Don Milani and today’s challenges”

The meeting highlighted the essential role of the school, after the family, in the socialization and education of children and adolescents.
Thanks to Don Milani’s innovative drive, the school has made giant strides in terms of formal inclusion, greater educational and didactic attention towards the weakest but the data in our possession shows that there is still a lot of work to be done.
It is essential that the municipal administration establishes a continuous constructive relationship with the schools in the district.
To strengthen the educational and didactic role of the school it is necessary to:
• Know the reality of the various schools through surveys and discussion tables
• Work on a multi-year development plan
• Build profitable relationships with local bodies and associations
• Create the conditions to carry out activities also in spaces for collective use: systems
sports, museums, cinemas and theaters, oratories, etc”
